Hydroponics is an alternative method for the growing of food crops using natural lighting, nutrients and water, without the use of soil
On March 29, 2022 DIC Staff, under the guidance of Ariaponics Limited, built two (2) hydroponic bucket systems to be used for growing short-term crops. These short-term crops can include tomatoes, sweet peppers, eggplants and cucumbers.
The activity provided an opportunity for staff to learn about an alternative form of food cultivation from the traditional method of growing crops; whilst assisting two (2) families, who now have full use of the systems to not only harvest produce but also sell some of the produce if they so desire.
